The Gym

Bingley Barbell Club is a gym for people who want to train properly with weights. Whether you’re a powerlifter or weightlifter looking to get strong, an athlete looking to improve performance or you’re looking to get in shape this is the place to do it! We offer group coaching session for powerlifting, weightlifting and Metabolic Conditioning if it’s fitness you’re after. We also offer closed strength and conditioning sessions for sports teams if that’s something your club is interested in.
Both our coaches are also available for private coaching sessions if you’re after some private tuition.

Tom is Head Coach at Leeds University and as well as being a Level 3 PT, he is a Level 1 British Powerlifting Coach and Level 2 British Weightlifting Coach.

The Gym

We have a very well stocked gym with 5 lifting platforms, 2 power racks and 2 bench presses with all the calibrated Ivanko weight plates bumper and solid, that you could wish for! We have a variety of bars both for powerlifting, weightlifting and general use. We also have plenty of dumbbells, benches and strongman training kit like Yolks, Logs and Atlas stones.

The Membership

We have different membership types aimed to cater for those with different needs, and it starts from just £30 a month.

If you know what you’re doing and just want to train in our gym then we have our open gym membership. This allows you to come and use the facilities whenever you like and crack on with your training. There will always be a coach on hand to answer any question you have, whether it’s about your deadlift form, or how to peak your training for a competition.

Tom Millbank

Has been involved in sport his whole life, playing badminton as a teenager at an international level. After retiring from the sport he coached it at a high level, and still does as the head coach at Leeds University, and Bradford University. He's also a level 3 Personal Trainer, a Level 1 British Powerlifting Coach and a Level 2 British Weightlifting Coach. He now competes in Strongman and is doing well as a novice.

Chris Baldwin

Started out by studying Sports Science at Leeds university and then went on to complete a Masters degree in Strength and Conditioning. He's a UKSCA accredited Strength and Conditioning Coach and now works as an SnC coach at Leeds University, as well as working for a number of other clubs and individuals coaching everything from powerlifting to cross country running. His sport is powerlifting and has been competing at a national level for a number of years and also coaches them, including a member of the GB team.

This allows you to come and use the facilities whenever you like and crack on with your training. One Coached Session… We run coaching sessions for Powerlifting, Weightlifting and Met Con and there will be classes running every day of the week. If you would like to come to one of these each week, on top of your open gym membership then this is the option for you.
Unlimited Coached Sessions… If group coaching is your thing and you want to come to multiple sessions each week, then you want this membership option!
Both our coaches are also available for private coaching sessions if you’re after some private tuition.
